Description

BRICKWORKS SAYS

This four-bed house unfolds over three floors and has been designed by the current owners to suit modern living. The main living space gathers around the south-facing bay window, where plantation shutters frame views of the green beyond, and a built-in window seat creates an easy spot for morning coffee. Original hardwood floors have been carefully restored bringing warmth and continuity, well-considered storage ensures everything has its place, and a wood-burning stove awaits to anchor cosy evenings as the light fades.

The recently remodelled kitchen is calm and elegant. Underfloor heating keeps things comfortable, while a picture window and large glass door draw the garden into view, with its green wall of fragrant jasmine, filling the room with natural light. The materials palette is modern yet tactile, made to be lived with, not just admired. Upstairs, four bedrooms offer welcome flexibility for family life, whether that’s working from home, space for children or the occasional overnight stay. The loft extension is especially serene, light and practical. Tucked away at the top of the house and with its own ensuite, it makes a wonderfully private retreat for guests.

Turnpike Lane station is just a five-minute walk, making the commute a breeze. Close to home, the neighbourhood offers a wonderful mix of independent spots: coffee at Perkyn’s, Georgian comfort food at Gurmani, and the reliably welcoming atmosphere of The Salisbury when the evening calls for a pint.

THE OWNERS SAY

We love the immediate vicinity — the beautiful common outside the house where the children play, and we have regular street parties. It's a quiet, green haven in London, even though it's so well connected to the London Underground network. Also, the allotments behind the house mean the house is not overlooked, and has lovely greenery surrounding it on both sides.

It's quite a unique spot with a lovely local community. There are cherry blossom trees on the street, and the trees on the green light up at night. Being able to get into town in 20 minutes is amazing, and there are so many great local restaurants and coffee shops nearby, as well as four parks. We are hoping to stay in the area as we don't want to leave.

Recent work:
The house has been comprehensively renovated by the current owners, who have carefully restored the original wood floors to regain their natural warmth and character. A high-end kitchen was also installed in 2024, featuring Brazilian marble countertops, a Smeg free-standing cooker and underfloor heating. A timber-frame sash window was installed in the first-floor rear bedroom, overlooking the allotments. And the entire house has been repainted in recent years, leaving it feeling fresh, cohesive and well maintained throughout.

Getting around:
Turnpike Lane (Piccadilly line, Z3) is less than five minutes' walk away, providing a direct route to Finsbury Park, King’s Cross St. Pancras and Heathrow Airport. Bus routes from the station area also head south to London Bridge and Trafalgar Square, and north towards Epping Forest. The North Circular is a 15-minute drive north, giving access to the M1 and M11.

Schools:
Belmont Infant and Junior Schools are very well regarded locally, and just a 10-minute walk away. And you’re within the catchment for Noel Park Primary too, which has a great reputation with local families. Onward plans:
The current owners are actively looking for their next home. The owners are expecting their third child and are hoping to find somewhere with even more space.

Anything else:
It’s wonderfully green around this home. Graham Green sits just opposite, where children often play, and neighbours regularly gather for street events, creating a friendly community feel. Allotments to the rear provide even more greenery to enjoy — an unusual luxury for such a well-connected location. The area is also part of a Low Traffic Neighbourhood, making it quiet and safe, with four Green Flag–awarded parks all within easy walking distance.
