Location
Elms Hall occupies one of Morecambe's most storied plots. The original house on this site was reputedly built in 1839 by Thomas Giles — a man of considerable standing who served as Mayor of Lancaster in 1831 — as his private country residence on the then-quiet north side of the village. Over the following decades the estate evolved considerably, becoming a family and commercial hotel in the late 19th century before serving the community as a convalescent home following the First World War. By the mid-1930s it had been reinvented once more as the "New Elms Hotel," celebrated as one of the area's premier venues. The present building, constructed around 2012, honours the legacy of that grand address while delivering the very best in contemporary senior living. The result is a development that carries real character and provenance — something that simply cannot be replicated in a new-build estate.
