Description
BRICKWORKS SAYS
Behind the composed façade of an imposing Victorian terrace, this lower-ground-floor flat feels like a well-kept secret. You step in and the herringbone floor leads the way — hallway to sitting room to kitchen — tying everything together with an easy sense of flow. The living space has that rare, settled quality: somewhere you instinctively exhale. And the galley kitchen is compact but clever; everything exactly where you want it, nothing where you don’t.
At the back, the principal bedroom enjoys the best of things, with a large sash window framing the garden and drawing in a soft, dappled light. The second bedroom makes a tranquil office, equally calm and leafy. Outside, the paved garden is low-fuss and full of potential, currently anchored by a striking soft tree fern that lends the whole space an enchanted sort of air. It’s a textbook hideaway; private, quiet and characterful.
Brook Green does this sort of life rather well. Good coffee (Debbie Jo’s matcha has a following), proper pubs like The Bird in Hand and The Havelock Tavern, and a weekend market worth wandering to. Plus, the tube is a 10-minute walk away, giving you easy access to all of London too.
THE OWNER SAYS
What we’ve loved most about living here is the unique balance the area offers; the village feel of Brook Green with its independent shops and weekend market, alongside the convenience of having Westfield just moments away. It’s incredibly well connected too; just a short tube ride to Soho and easy access further west to places like Fulham and Kew.
With the exciting Olympia redevelopment opening soon on the doorstep, the area continues to evolve in all the right ways. Our flat itself has been a real sanctuary — cosy and warm through the winter months, and in the warmer seasons it truly comes to life as we open up and host in the garden, which feels like a little oasis in the heart of London.
