2022 has been quite a year for PropTech - gaining interest, traction and funding, cementing itself as a critical component in any successful modern agency.

As the property market continues to evolve next year, take some time to get your PropTech in line for 2023 to ensure it is not just working for you but significantly benefitting your agency for the long term.

#1 Define your PropTech needs

What activities or projects in your agency would benefit from the support of technology or automation? Estate agency is a service, and like any service, many elements can’t or shouldn't have the human element removed. However, in many areas, automation can enhance your service, so define what those are. Do you need your prospecting and marketing to reach more people? Could your team do with a better way of handling incoming enquiries? Work out what you need most as a first step.

Assess your existing PropTech

Look at the tools you are currently using and be critical; are they serving your needs and worth the money you are paying? Innovative and effective PropTech should be worth its weight in gold, so make sure you’re not paying for any that isn't of use to you.

Identify your PropTech gaps

Which areas could do with technology that you don't have a tool for? How much would you happily pay for this tool and what would be your expectations for it? There is a PropTech solution to almost every estate agency problem, so no doubt there will be an option for you. But whether it is right for you at this time is a very different question.

Consider integrations

Considerably more PropTech is now being created with open APIs - which allows your PropTech tools to work together without any manual reconciliation. Get in touch with your existing suppliers to find out what level of integration is possible and how it could save you time. The more you can ensure consistency between your tools, the better.
